Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Wilmington, NC

Some of this was out of your control. As we were going to bed, out bathroom had water coming out of the ceiling. We had to pack up and move. The luggage carts were awful. The one we unloaded our car with would not hardly roll. When we had to move rooms, the cart we used would barely roll. The room we moved to was not as nice as our previous room. It did not have a door between the rooms. The room 418, had black stains on the carpet. It took close to 5 minutes at times to get hot water to our room. The ironing board would not stand up. I took it downstairs to show and get another one and was informed there was no replacement. One of the cabinets had wood missing and all you saw was particle board. The TV in the bedroom was poor picture. The one in the sitting room had beautiful picture.

Positive: Location is nice. Rooms are dated, but okay. No usb options in rooms. Negative: Carpet was disgusting. Hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Pool is there but not operational. It is clear the management does not care about spending money to keep the hotel in good shape. Letting it run into the ground.

The lady who welcomed us late Saturday night provided exceptional service and was very attentive. However, the person in charge of the dining area was rude when we informed her that the waffle batter dispenser was empty. She stated that breakfast had ended, even though it was only 9:00 a.m. and breakfast service runs until 10:30 a.m. Additionally, the young woman who checked us out on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. was intolerant and should not be in a customer-facing position.

Zero maintenance is done at this hotel. Pool is dark green with algae and you can smell it throughout the entire first floor. Forget about eating breakfast in the lobby due to the odor. Elevator doesn't work. No hot water. Doors not hung properly and difficult to open close. Light bulbs missing from the light fixtures. Phone in the room didn't work. Front desk personnel doesn't understand English, even after giving my drivers license kept getting the name/reservation wrong. Carpet is filthy everywhere. Room furnishings are sparse. I've stayed in better Econolodges. This place comes no where near meeting the standards of a Country Inn and Suites. Choice hotels should be ashamed to have this place listed as one of theirs.

I killed at least 15 cockroaches in my room. It also had a moldy and musty smell and mold in different areas. The carpet was stained and the furniture was outdated and damaged. The refrigerator would basically fall out of its space when you opened the door. I complained to the front desk and it fell on deaf ears. I should have been moved to another room or refunded my money immediately. The pool was dirty, water was brown. The entire building was unsanitary and the health department should shut them down. I would not recommend my worst enemy stay there. Management definitely could not care less because they never contact me after multiple request. Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever stayed in my life!!!!!
