Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Rochester, MN

Overall nice people. The place is an old country inn and suites. A non working pool that has been shut down by the health department. Dated rooms. Bathroom curtain was shredded at the seams as well as the curtains in the room. The place was clean. A fair price would be $45 a night. If they upgrade the place, open the pool and touch the place up they can be an excellent place and charge the price they do now.

Outdated rooms, walking down the stairs I smelled strong cigarettes. No housekeeping was done. The trash piling up. Dirty tub. Attendant used a plunger on tub to get it to drain but never cleaned the tub. It appears they never use a cleanser to clean the tub as the sides were filthy. The pool and hot tub were not available as advertised. Breakfast is OK but the coffee was stale. No coffee in rooms.

The staff was very cordial, the rooms were comfortable, there was appropriate furniture in place to make everything easy to stay organized. There was a yard for my dog to go potty. In addition, the breakfast was also good. The cost to value was superb. What more can a person ask for.

The room was clean, but in need if some maintenance such as cracked lampshades. For the most part the room was fine. The pool was still not open. Breakfast was fine. The biggest problem for me was the shuttle service which was described as convenient shuttle service to and from the Mayo Clinic. I arrived at 3:15pm and asked for the shuttle to the Mayo. Shuttle service ends at 3. Hmmm, when I have appointments I am often not done until 4:30! The next morning I asked for a shuttle to Mayo St. Mary's. The shuttle doesn't go there, only to the Mayo and Gonda buildings. The next day I asked for a 9am shuttle to the Gonda building for the following morning. I later realized my appointment was at 9am. I went to the front desk at 7am and said I need an 8:30 or any time before 9 shuttle

Positive: Location. Negative: Pool was closed due to city order. I reserved this hotel as it had a pool. It did not say the pool was closed. I consider this false advertising.
