Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Richmond West at I-64, VA

My husband and I were there for a very important appointment at VCU for my kidney transplant. 1st night we couldn’t sleep because of a “church service” that was definitely not a church service being held at a nearby restaurant/hookah lounge. When asked, front desk said it’s from 6-8pm but it was almost 11pm when the loud non gospel music stopped and we had to be up very early next morning for the appointment. Hotel needs to complain to them or book rooms on other side of hotel during those nights. Unable to swim when we first got there due to maintenance which is understandable but should be notified of those days/times when booking as that was the main amenity we stayed there for. It was a typical hotel. Everything was clean and nice. Always a little wear and tear here and there. Pool and hot tub were great. Breakfast was good. Large assortment. Scrambled eggs seemed like they were powdered but had two other egg options. Make your own waffles. Sausage links and turkey sausage patties. Strong coffee. Room was comfortable Great location next to plenty of restaurants and areas to shop. I believe within 5 miles of Target and Walmart. Only stayed two days for the weekend with my mom.

The first impression is the lobby with old stained sofa. We got to our room after the first key card not working only to find it had evidence of someone using the bed and not straightening it up afterwards. We were given another room and it was a suite, very nice to upgrade us. We walk into this room and the chair in the sitting area has a huge stain on the seat, 4 tiny square pillows on the bed and no hair dryer. The whole facility has not aged well and not been kept up well. |The one bright spot was the breakfast area was clean and stocked with typical hotel breakfast fare.

Staff were very professional and courteous. They took care of any questions and needs without hesitation. The room was clean and quiet. The indoor pool was nice to play in and the hot tub would have been better if the timer for the nets was working properly. The only thing I was disappointed by was the breakfast - not impressed and small selection.

Worst hotel experience! Scam and rude staff and management. Book this room through booking.com and paid before arriving to property . Front desk rep (Annie) proceeded to still charge my card even through the room was paid for. Had to get the manager involved which didn’t help. He was trying charging my card from his home. Also told Annie to stop dealings with me regarding my refund. Had to get the police involved. Due to being charged 2x for on night stay and still being charged . Annie proceeded to trash talk me and my friend. While other guest was present. After she openly admitted to charging my card 2x. Not to mention the 3rd elevator only work going up not going back down.
