Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Ames, IA

When I first got into my room and used the toilet, the toilet had some issues and clogged up. It even started overflowing. I called maintenance people and they were there within a couple minutes. They were really nice and helpful. Apparently the toilet had a missing part! I went back to the front desk, and the man working there was more than happy to provide another room for me of the same kind. That's how service should be done! If I could give the service a 6-star rating, I totallt would! Also, the rooms were well-worth the price. Cookies in the lobby were great. If I ever stay in this area again, it'll be this hotel for sure!

Mira was FABULOUS!! She went out of her way to make our stay wonderful! We celebrated our family Thanksgiving there. She made sure our rooms were together, opened up the "breakfast" room for us to use for our "family meal". Made sure we had everything we needed at all times! She was so pleasant and helpful! She really cared if we had a good time! You don't find that much anymore!

My wife tried to stay at this hotel on Friday, July 25, 2025. When she arrived around 8:00 PM, the air conditioning in her first room was not functioning properly. The temperature and humidity were incredibly high. It was uncomfortable and unacceptable.||When she was given another room, the second room was dirty and disgusting. The sheets were not clean, with hair and makeup on them. There was trash on the floor of the bathroom and the fixtures were peeling and corroded. She asked for a refund, and the manager on duty that night told her they would approve it.||Flash to today and the Country Inn & Suites refused to honor the refund. They're claiming that my wife somehow checked in at 6:56 PM. This is not true. Management even doubled down after she went into the hotel and showed them photo

Excellent hotel! Raj greeted us with a friendly smile, rearranged our room for us to accommodate our needs, and even had cookies available at the front desk! He then even offered to make us a fresh batch of coffee as the ones already out were a bit old. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was great (even had delicious potatoes to go with the eggs! Can't say enough about how happy we were with our stay, and would recommend Choice send all it's managers here to see how a hotel should look, function and feel.

The hotel needs some cleaning and TLC. I stayed here for 4 nights and the room was fine I suppose. But, there were water bottles and trash under the furniture in the lobby, the carpet in the hallway had numerous stains on it, and my room had ISU stickers on the wall in an extremely obvious place. The breakfast is ok, but it seemed like it was set up early and ignored the rest of the morning. For example, there were no napkins one morning. Another day the syrup was comoletely empty. Not deal breakers but maybe evidence of needing some additional staff. I was on the 2nd floor and heard every step and use of plumbing in the room above. The woman at the front desk was extremely nice and pleasant.
