Comfort Suites Tuscaloosa near University

This stay was ideal as we traveled through Alabama. The Comfort Suites is located at a major exit off I-20/59. On a Saturday evening we attended Mass at Holy Spirit, just around the corner. A beautiful area.|The hotel is comfortable and well maintained. The staff is southern friendly. Consider requesting a room facing away from the interstate, though the traffic noise was minimal. We were gone before breakfast, so that is an unknown.

The lock on our door didn’t work. We had to get multiple different keys until they finally replaced the lock. They didn’t tell us they replaced the lock so we were AGAIN locked out of our room. It was not a clean room. There were prints on the window and mold on the shower curtain. The furniture was shredding. The comforter/duvet was torn. I have never written a bad hotel review before, but this was really awful and we paid a lot for this!! We all agreed never to stay there ever again.

We were pleasantly surprised. Despite a renovation looming, i thought the rooms were pretty clean, smelled ok, and the breakfast selection was great. Loved the available coffee 24x7. Staff friendly. Primary downside is no fault of the hotel, it’s the crappy looking gas station lot out the window that was eh. There was a homeless man living in that area by the dumpster. Sad. Temp on final night dropped to 30s. Favorite part was the easy out and on i20 to head to UofAL. Pretty convenient. We stayed an extra night on Sunday after the game, price for room was reasonable given the cost of others closer to the university.

Nice hotel. I stayed 4 nights. Clean rooms for the most part, but my first night, the top cover on the bed in my room was not washed. It smelled just like perfume, White Diamond to be exact. Didn’t smell clean at all. The Housekeepers are so demanding before 11am check-out time. Geesh!!! I like the front desk staff, they are all so friendly except the old Caucasian woman with the blonde hair, shoulder length. Looks to be in her late 50s or early 60s. She’s very rude. But overall my stay was nice. The breakfast was really good as well.

Mary Ann was absolutely fabulous. She was very friendly and very accommodating. She even helped me find a parking spot for my truck and trailer. She was always asking to let her know if we needed anything. She also remembered us from a previous visit. If there were more Mary Ann's the world would be a better place. I can't say enough to tell you how great she was.
