Hotel Capstone

We stayed here 2 nights for an event that was taking place at the conference center next door. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was the convenience of a restaurant downstairs. They are pet friendly and they had gifts for our dog when we checked in. The room we had was ok. The bathroom in our room was so tiny that there was only about 1” between the door, when you opened it, and the toilet. Not much room to function in. The beds were not comfortable. I feel that for the price you are charged here, it is well past due for an upgrade. The 3rd floor hallway smelled moldy. The downstairs lobby is beautiful and well kept. Understanding that it is located on a college campus, you should expect some noise but the fraternity houses are located one street over and one of them had

The room was 78 degrees. When we complained they sent a maintenance man who explained that the only thing we could do was turn off the heat. We did, but it was still only 76 by the morning. Not being able to control the temperature better caused us to move to Home 2 Suites downtown, which was half the price and much better all around. I will say the breakfast buffet at Hotel Capstone was amazing, but expensive. The walls were also paper thin. We could hear people talking at a normal volume in the rooms on both sides of our room and could even hear one of them snoring in the morning.

What a wonderful stay and experience! I booked the junior king suite and it was huge! A lovely corner room with well appointed amenities, super comfie bed and such attentive staff who clearly care about those of us who stay at the hotel and want everyone to feel welcome and taken care of!

It's a really nice hotel. Better than I expected. I usually only stay at Hiltons. There is almost no one here right now because the students are gone, and the Alabama game is away. The room is spacious and clean. The staff is friendly. Breakfast was minimal but again no one here. We were there alone. I'd definitely come back.

Great location for Alabama. I tried to get late check out the night before but I got pushed to the morning - then the morning staff was late and I couldn't get an answer. Hotel was nice - older rooms but nice downstairs!
