Deerlick Creek Campground

Nice and peaceful. It is probably 30 minutes off the expressway. FYI some of the pull-thru sites still require backing up to enter or exit.

This is a beautiful campground in a nice state park about 18 miles off the beaten path from Route 20 and Tuscaloosa. We had an absolutely stunning site, #35, with a deck overlooking the lake and a generous pad and campsite. However, I would not recommend the River Bluff Loop for larger campers. We have a 38 ft fifth wheel and got stuck in the hairpin turn needed to be able to back into our site. We had signs in the front and trees in the back. Adrian and Kim provided great assistance in helping us get out of our predicament.

Nice campground but for the 2nd year in a row they are closing the campground for work. This year for 6 months to replace a water line. Great campground but apparently lousy management or the owner has too much money to care? Either way this reflects very poorly on an otherwise nice camping area.

We spent 4 night here in our fifth wheel in site 17 overlooking the lake. Upper loops are more suited for bigger rigs as they have a cul de sac turn around that the lower sites do not have. Stayed during a weather event & the camp hosts were very helpful in finding a local storm shelter. Campground itself is 20 minutes out of town on some curvy up & down roads.

I almost want to give this place a bad review. That way it will never be busy. It is amazing! This is probably one of my favorite state parks. The sites are set up so that you feel alone and not cramped next to other travel trailers. The hosts are amazing. If you want a place to unwind and reconnect with nature, this is the place.
