Comfort Suites Richmond

I've stayed here many times and have always been satisfied. I'm not sure what has changed in the daily operations there in the last 6 months, but it was definitely not the experience I expected. The first room I was given hadn't been cleaned and I had to go down to get another (not a huge deal). The second room had been prepared, but definitely not vacuumed. There was hair in the sink and bathroom floor, the toilet wasn't properly set into the floor and banged every time it was sat on, food left from previous guests on the main floor of the bedroom and sitting room (bigger deal). The hallway floors were also not vacuumed and the elevator was dirty, It's not difficult to wipe down the floors and walls of the elevator. Dirty and rundown. The pictures online are clearly VERY out of date. The hotel is very run down. The wallpaper is peeling the hallway and the lights flicker. The pool area was very dirty (mud and cigarette ashes on the floor) and the advertised hot tub had been filled in. Our room had not been cleaned well either. There was food folded up in the pullout couch, the coffee maker was nasty, and there was a booger smeared on the headboard. The breakfast buffet was very sad. The "fresh" fruit was far from it and the coffee was terrible. We will never , ever stay here again and you shouldn't either!!!

Reserved a Jacuzzi room online weeks in advance for two nights on Choice hotel website. After a 5 hour drive I received key cards for a standard king room with no jacuzzi that smelled like cigarettes. Thankfully, I was given a receipt for a return of 2 night charges After a 5 hour return drive I enjoyed my 40 anniversary weekend at home. Thanks Comfort Suites Richmond for the scenic 10 hour drive. Next time you call, don't hang up without leaving a message and I'll get back to you!

The hotel was not up to the standards I have experienced at many other Comfort and Sleep properties. It was adequate for our needs, but fell far short of expectations. Overall impression was that the entire facility desparately needs major maintenance, cleaning, repair, and renovation.

Always fun at Comfort Suites, always great service, great staff to answer any questions. Room was just right after a long drive on a rainy day, and slept well. Thanks for having breakfast, was able to get up and get back on the road to get to Michigan. It was a bonus to have the Weather channel in the dining area to keep up with the local weather!
