Comfort Inn & Suites Watertown - 1000 Islands

Positives: I know what I'm getting when I stay there, the building/rooms/common areas are well maintained and welcoming. The housekeeping staff are super kind, helpful and accommodating. Negatives: the bed pillows have gotten very small over the years, the front desk staff was not very happy to be at work it seemed. It was almost as if we were bothering them by being there. The rest of the staff was great.

The pool not being available was the biggest letdown. While I do know in the description of the room it did specify the pool was not available as everybody is programmed today, We look at icons and read the verbiage as a last resort. There should be some notification with the icon The pool is not available. Add to that I could not get the room below 75° and it was very uncomfortable. I did not reach out to the hotel because I just assumed it was because of the age of the facilities and related equipment. Because of the combination of both issues, I would probably only return to this hotel as a last resort. The personnel very friendly. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was great.

The young lady that was working when we arrived was amazing. She was a lot of fun. However, we went to go for a swim later. In the evening and found the pool was not open. Nobody had said anything.And when we approach a front desk, the gentleman working, which I come to find out later is actually the manager was very rude.And very obnoxious about it like sorry for your loss.Better luck next time!! This was our second time we had stayed there. The first time we thoroughly enjoyed it. That's why we went back. Whether or not we do again, i'm not sure. Stuart Spurrell

Night time check in was straight forward. Room initially seemed clean. Shower was dirty. The vent into the shower was caked with dirt and dust. The shower also didnt drain. Screaming and running up and down the halls all night. The room above us sounded like they were sawing through the ceiling. In the morning there were several people getting food at the continental breakfast barefoot. The worker who puts out the food saw did nothing about it. There was a strange amount of human hair in the eggs. Avoid this place at all cost.

We chose this hotel because we wanted a hotel with a swimming pool. When we arrived, we were informed that the pool was out of order. I booked the night before, and there was no mention that the pool was not working. If I had known, I would have stayed somewhere else. My room was non-refundable, and we were offered only a 15% discount. The children are really disappointed—the whole point of staying at the hotel was to go swimming!|For our next stay, I will book at Hampton Inn.
