Clarion Pointe Jacksonville near Camp Lejeune

Let’s just start off with my wife couldn’t sleep at all because the room was very moist and wet. The staff blamed it on the environment but we live near the oceanfront in Virginia Beach so we know if the AC unit isn’t working properly. Condensation isn’t properly extracted but going back into the room. My wife’s sandals were partially wet when waking up. Her hair tends to frizz when there’s a lot of moisture in the environment. Aside from the room change when we first checked in, our options were third or fourth floor. You can differently smell the moisture, almost like a mildew smell in all rooms. Cost wise the rooms were below decent. This is Jacksonville, we both know the area isn’t great.

This is a very nice hotel and the price was very good too (even though it was a graduation weekend). We were pleased with our two-night stay. The hotel is attractive, updated and clean. The staff were nice and helpful. The beds are comfy and the sheets soft -- two things that are important to me - and the pillows were very good too. The breakfast was one of the best we've had in a mid-line Choice hotel. The eggs were fluffy and tasty, the biscuit was hot and nicely crisp, the sausage gravy was tastier than usual - and there was crisp bacon (always a bonus!). The dining area was a fairly decent size. The Clarion is a good value for the dollar. It's clean, comfortable, and in decent repair. The complimentary breakfast is great, serving appropriate proteine sourses along with carbs. And the staff is really awesome! However, it is an old building which shows in elevators, doors to stairwells, and the stairwells, themselves.

The front desk staff were wonderful, kind and very pleasant. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast was really good too. Would definitely stay here again.

Lobby staff was great. Breakfast was good. Only problem was the window in our room was nasty. So dirty you couldn’t see out of it. I actually took a picture of it. Room 427. Also. Maid service doesn’t make the bed??
