Charlesgate Suites

We loved our stay here. Clean, airy and light apartment on the fourth floor (be aware there are a lot of steps!), with a great view of the river and far enough above the traffic to be quiet. Great location - 5 min walk to the T, easy to get to all the fun sights and restaurants. Hosts very receptive, and loved the little touches - an umbrella to grab before we went out in the rain, a laundry basket next to the washer/dryer. Would definitely recommend!

I looked for weeks and found the perfect place in Boston and booked Charlesgate Suites and got a confirmation letter. I paid $1300. (Yikes!) for 3 days. the next day they sent me a message that contained the following: We are unable to provide refunds for shortened stays or any inconveniences caused by temporary cable, internet, Wi-Fi, heating, cooling, or power outages.By confirming your booking you agree to the above rules and regulations. But wait, but the listing says you have cable, internet, Wi-Fi, heating and cooling. I sent them a message telling them this is not acceptable and I would not agree to it. It’s not part of hotels.com terms. They replied saying they were just setting expectations and then cancelled my reservation with no reason given. I have stayed 38 times with hotel

I purchased a design studio suite (paid extra for it) I got a smaller basic room with NONE of the extra amenities I paid extra for. Property said there was nothing they could do. Luckily Expedia stepped in and moved me to a different hotel. The property never contacted me when they said they would PLUS they continued to charge me the full price for the smaller wrong room. I paid extra to have a bigger room with more amenities NOT to be cheated out of my money for a smaller room in the basement. It is in a good location, the room was nice and bed comfortable but hospitality and help is below average.

The hotel is located in a convenient location. However our room is in the basement which is half underground. We can see big trash bins right outside the windows of our room. Also the manual door knob inside is not working. So we can’t double lock our door inside the room. Anyone who knows the passcode of our door will be able to enter our room which sounds insecure to us.

I spent an extra$400 to get the design studio suite that is 505sq ft with a stove and full size fridge. I got a comfort suite that was 300sq ft [200 feet less] NO STOVE NO full size FRIDGE. The property said it was expedia's fault but expedia had all the info sent to them for the design studio. The property wouldn't respond in a timely matter about the room or at least a partial refund for the wrong room they put us in. It's a total nightmare! The beds are comfortable but not what I paid for. It's false advertisement.
