Castro Hotel

I stayed here for a year and it is such a lovely place. It is in the heart of North beach, all the beautiful spots in SF are walking distance. Before moving in, I checked out many other shared living places but there were a lot of weird people. I needed something within my budget but the other ones were not worth the risk. But good news Castro Hotel is super safe and affordable. They hand pick the best tenants, so many of them are so sweet, I will miss them. Besides, the Staff, Monique, John and Hale are excellent and they keep the place incredibly clean. I highly recommend it, they also have weekly and monthly prices.

This place seemed just fine at first, especially considering the price and the location. However, after a few days I was attacked by bed bugs and everything changed. The manager sprayed my room for bugs, but it didn't solve the problem. I started to keep an eye out, and found bugs crawling in the common areas of the hotel. Even though the infestation was obvious, the owners denied it, saying that I must have brought them into the room. I moved out ASAP, washed my belongings, and didn't have any more bed bug problems. If you're planning on staying here, be extra careful and inform yourself about beg bugs!

A fun, quirky place to stay. Some reviews are clearly for a different place ("servers"? "Jack & coke"? - it's not a bar or restaurant, and they have no food or beverage service). This sort of error is typical of Google.
