Candlewood Suites York by IHG

Planned to stay here with my husband and daughter on my husbands business trip. We ended up getting a refund upon our arrival to our room and spending a little while in there and the discoveries just got worse and worse. There were no towels whatsoever when we got to our room and It also was just disgusting. I was gonna let the dirty surfaces slide until I seen the bed, shower and ac unit. The surfaces were not wiped including the stove, microwave, handles, switches, etc. nothing dusted. the heat/ac unit had mold, dust, and hair all through it. The sheets had stains on it and the beds do not have mattress protectors which led to me checking the mattress directly underneath the sheet… there were stains all over the mattress and literal crumbs down in the cracks of the mattress. Absolutely

Positive: THe Staff was very friendly and helpfull.We were greeted at the Front desk by a gentleman, who was very charming , funny and of course helpful Negative: The coffe maker was not working very good .

My experience was warmth, welcoming, available and ready to assist with room service, questions and supplies. Friendly. Cleanliness. The hotel as washer and dryer, workout equipment, lounge area, and snack bar. My room was a queen size bed with a suite (large refrigerator, dish washer, large microwave, huge bathroom, large L shape desk, recliner with two sitting chairs, nice size TV on the wall. I have no complaints about my room, I would definitely recommend staying there again and to others.

Having been here long-term, we have seen a lot happen within the hotel. It seems to be on the up-swing with getting repairs done. Hopefully, this will continue and future repairs will be made swiftly. The staff are friendly, kind and always helpful. We really appreciate seeing their friendly faces and kind chats. Our suite is very comfortable and convenient. We have met many nice people here. Occasionally, some of the guests aren’t mindful of the fact that there are others who use these grounds. That’s the only down side for us. Thankfully, the staff are quick to address noisy or unruly guests. We are grateful for that. We would definitely recommend this place for your stay. *A Note to the Owner: If your staff says something needs repaired or recommend changes, please listen to them

As a long term guest I have accumulated a substantial number of Points for my extended stay at this property. This past weekend we hosted a couple who are very dear friends and were so pleased at their immediate and heartfelt response of surprised appreciation for the quality of their suite. They noted the cleanliness, convenience of the kitchen and thoughtful staff. Of note, Brit extended a warm welcome as our friend dashed through the snow to the lobby and kindly directed her to our room (as we requested) and additionally called to our room to announce her coming up so we could be at the door of our suite to greet her (with careful thoughtfulness upon recognizing that our friend had opted to take the stairs - with armfuls of travel items).
