Best Western Westgate Inn

We stayed at the Best Western in York PA while in town for a volleyball tournament. The location was very convenient to the tournament venue. The hotel was basic but it was clean and had everything we needed. There was a decent free breakfast with many options. The staff were very nice and accommodating to our group of girls, letting them use the lobby to hang out. After we got home from our stay my daughter realized she left something behind in our room. We called the hotel and they were able to find it and shipped it back to us. They were very helpful and we really appreciated their help with sending that back to us!

The bed frames are made of some kind of sheet metal that ripples and makes thunderous noises almost every time you move. Probably a great hotel otherwise, but this is the most obnoxious bed I have ever encountered and I am so glad we are only staying one night.

Positive: The support staff was very friendly and accommodating Negative: My encounter with the manager on check-in was very awkward and left me feeling misunderstood and not trustworthy as a guest, due to the $100 'damages deposit', which no other hotel in the area charges, in my recent experience. Carpet on 3rd fl bumpy.

The hotel is very clean and the desk clerk was friendly and very helpful with our early check in. He was very knowledgeable about the information in regards to any additional fees for early check in when available. The room is a king and is really big with plenty of room to move around and be comfortable. The bed is soft yet firm and I was able to get a good night sleep finally. There is a sofa bed in the room also that easily sleeps 2. Breakfast is really tasty with plenty to choose from including a choice of pancakes/waffles, scrambled eggs with cheese, turkey sausage links, and an assortment of breads, muffins, cereals, fruit,coffee, and juices. Very clean. Jacuzzi suite was VERY nice and spacious. Bed was comfortable, did have a strange scent from whatever they washed the sheets with that was a little harsh. Did have a staff member knock on our door around 9am (we had the do not disturb sign out 🫤) and I could not understand what he was asking me so I assumed he was asking about housekeeping I said no thank you, and he kept saying something. I told him I could not understand him. I have no idea what that was all about and it was irritating. (Do not disturb is there for a reason!) But overall would stay again.
