Customer Reviews
Positive: Rooms are up to date, nicely decorated and very clean. Negative: The bacon at breakfast was not bacon, not sure what it was...Awful!!!
San Francisco is an expensive city, so finding something affordable can feel like a challenge, especially when free parking is involved. This hotel feels like a small miracle the moment you realize you are not circling the block or paying overnight garage fees. Red Coach Inn truly feels like an oasis in the middle of the city. And yes, it has free parking, which is worth repeating because it matters that much. The rooms are clean and modern, and when I stayed in December 2025, they felt recently renovated and well maintained. The WiFi was fast enough for Zoom calls without any issues, which is always a non negotiable for me. The area is fine and well connected, with plenty of public transportation options nearby that make getting around easy. It checks all the boxes without trying too hard
Very friendly staff at all times, free parking, toilet in the room breakfast included acceptable but can improve a lot. The rooms are clean and recently remodeled, the beds very comfortable, I did not like the sliding door of the bathroom that opens by itself and does not provide you with privacy I think the room is large enough to have put a normal door. I didn't like the area there are streets around which you don't feel safe walking but the hotel is very central and if you move by car you don't have to worry.
Generally a fine, new motel, in a convenient location, with an excellent staff and fine rooms. Breakfast was excellent. Price reasonable. It has free parking but only a small number of spaces. Neighborhood is slightly sketchy with those poor homeless folks, but walking on Polk or Van Ness will be ok. Two things irked me - scanning my driver's license and requiring a substantial deposit. Since I've stayed in more than a hundred BW properties and been a member of their points club for 30+ years, they don't need to require those questionable steps.
Room was spotless, amenities are valuable & top notch, with continental breakfast! Staff is accommodating, nice and down to earth. It’s in a high energy part of town, day and night. Look around you, feel the downtown it is lovely and eccentric, or different, so use common sense, and try the local food places that are high quality!
