Beachside Hotel & Suites Cocoa Beach - Port Canaveral

There are some reviews that made me afraid to be here, so I hope this is helpful for you as you book your trip. We needed a room close to the cruise port and we wanted to be able to have amenities where we could lounge by a pool and grab a drink after a long day flying. This place did not disappoint. I asked if there is luggage storage as we came earlier than check in. The answer was yes. However, the room was available earlier so that was a nice surprise as we had been traveling since 2:00 am mountain time. The lazy river was fun and the drinks are not over priced. Pros: Nice views and good location near restaurants and convenience stores. Good layout to the room with a separate "living room" area that could be closed off to the bedroom area. Jennifer at the front desk during day shift was helpful and pleasant. Cons: No hot water in the shower on first morning. Jennifer said they would fix it during the day while we were out. When we returned later that day. Lu was on duty at the front desk. She had a snarky tone and told us the temp dials worked in reverse (i.e. hot was cold and cold was hot) like we should have just assumed that. However that morning I tried playing around with the dials in a variety of ways and still didn't get hot water. We made a last minute decision to head to Cocoa Beach for a launch. Called the hotel and they kindly had a room available for us. $308 for room 406 - a suite for one night. We arrived to an awful chemical or cat pee smell in the room, things were generally kind of dirty and the couch looked pretty gross with stains on it. The AC unit appeared rusty inside. Asked the front desk if they had any availability. Nope, no more suites around 8pm. That's fine - we figured it might be okay for one night just to sleep even though we'd started coughing and our eyes were burning a bit. At 9:45 pm, we were sitting on the couch in the living area and a cockroach scurried on the AC unit. Booked this with a friend and my daughter last minute so we didn’t know what to expect upon arrival but we really loved it! The customer service was great! Nice pool and lazy river, Free bike rentals and the free breakfast in the morning was perfect. I even forgot my cosmetic bag and they shipped it to me within the week!
