Baymont by Wyndham Rochester Mayo Clinic Area

I have never stayed at baymont before, but I would stay again. Breakfast is free and like all the other free breakfasts. The room was as expected. I was super happy to have a fridge with a freezer and a microwave. It was so helpful with my 3 night stay. It was quite on my floor, but it was winter. It was nice to be able to have a/c the first day and heat the next because it's Minnesota. I do with the pillows were a little bit more fluffy.

My stay was quite nice. It started with convenient parking. I walked into a very festive lobby followed by a welcoming smile by staff. My room was clean and tidy, the pool water was at the perfect temperature. I will stay there again.

The staff is so incredibly friendly. Real people. Down to earth. The location is an easy access just 1 mile from Mayo with a shuttle to take you there. Beautiful lobby and breakfast area. Beautiful new updated pool area. The ramp way up to the hallway and elevator to the rooms, does make it difficult for older people to walk and miss step on the couple of Areas where it drops. Or if you would have a walker. I see there is an east wing and a west wing. Hallway and floor two East does have a smell and could use an update. The room was exceptionally clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I have never Seen whiter linens in my life. There is a new very nice size large refrigerator. Positive: Staff friendly and accommodating. Negative: No pool. Getting from the lobby to the elevator was difficult as it was accessed with a ramp. Hardto walk with a walker up that ramp was very difficult. Should have told about that as a handicap room was requested (didn't get that either).

If I could give a negative star review, I 100% would! We didn't even fully check in before we knew this place was a disaster. We arrived and immediately knew from the condition of the outside of the building that this place was dirty. While my significant other went to the front desk, me and my toddler waited in the vehicle. I got curious about what the reviews said. I am so glad I did. Google review listed no less than 5 days ago (at the time of our arrival) that this place had bed bugs. Right after I read this review, my toddler started saying that he needed to go potty and couldn't wait, so me and him went inside. We were met with an immediate smell of mold/mildew/dirtiness the instant you walk in the front door. There's a window in the lobby that looks at the pool area so whil
