Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton

We had a bookish ball here. Gorgeous venue that really made it easy to set the fantasy scene. I'm rating it rooms a 4 only because of the lack of microwave. They were clean and spacious. The service gets a 4 due to the iffy service at the "secret club". Location is convenient and beautiful, with attached parking. Lots of stairs in the building!

Positive: The ambiance is incredible. It feels like you are transported back in time a bit and at a hotel owned by Great Gatsby. Negative: The pool is hard to find… however, once you find it (after asking more than one person), it’s a nice pool!

The hotel is located in a really nice spot. It is Central to a lot of places you may want to go including the Skywalk which is connected to the building making it easier to walk the town during the winter time or even those really hot summer days. We opted to have a tower view which was beautiful at night looking over the river with all the lights. The room wasn't necessarily large but just big enough for two of us. The bathroom was a bit tight and it was fairly dry and Dusty in the room. We attended an event that was hosted in the building making it convenient to attend while in the dead of winter with having the room. We stayed Dec 27-28 and had some missteps as part of our experience. The part we dislike the most is there has been no response on the part of management. What follows is the email we sent to the front desk (and management):||||To whom it may concern,||I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with our recent stay at the Amway Grand Hotel from December 27 to 28. We have stayed with you before and enjoyed the property, which makes this experience all the more disappointing.||On Saturday evening, December 27, between approximately 7:00 and 8:00 p.m., we discovered there was no hot water in our room (Room 708). We contacted the front desk and were informed a few minutes later that the room was “out of service” and that we would need to be moved.||We were reassigned to Room 728. Unfortunat

The staff at this hotel are the standouts. The room was fine, nothing to write home about. Our king bed room was rather small but was functional. We weren't quite high enough to have a great view but oh well. But the front desk staff, valet team, and housekeeping were all very polite, professional, and helpful. The location is great. The shops and restaurants in or close to the hotel are great. We enjoyed The Kitchen.
