Amelia Hotel at the Beach

We booked last minute for the Amelia Concouse. Its a fine hotel for an older property with an excellent location and a great beachfront restaurant directly across the street. Does need updating. Prices were high this particular weekend due to demand for the car show but that's OK. We expected that. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. What we didn’t expect was the room directly next to us literally hooting and hollering and partying like it was1999 until 5 am with no restraint or respect for anyone else in the hotel but themselves. It was like they were right in our room with us. Terrible experience due to completely rude guests and no intervention from management. WORSE than Spring Breakers. We won't be back.

The front desk staff were all very pleasant and friendly, along with all the maids we talked to. The rooms could use some freshening up, but it’s a clean and a pleasant place to stay. We ate at Sliders across the street twice which made it very handy and they had live music every day. Be sure and drive to downtown Amelia—it’s a beautiful, little cozy village-like atmosphere.

Great location central to everything on Amelia Island. The room was sufficient and service was wonderful. I received my invoice via email and discovered I paid over $14.00 to use my credit card for two days to pay for my room?? This charge gives me a reason to consider other properties when booking my next "get away" on Amelia Island. What a shame.

The hotel isn’t bad. Has free breakfast. Older hotel but kept up ok. Staff we worked with were very friendly. Getting a consistent temperature in the room was hard it was either freezing cold or burning hot. My 3 stars is the temperature control and because no working WiFi. What kind of hotel in the middle of a touristy area doesn’t have internet?!?! It was torture. I needed to send emails and I couldn’t without leaving the hotel. I know this is a first world problem but it’s a first world problem they should fix. Others were complaining about it at breakfast so it wasn’t just me.
