Alura Inn

Backed up to street. Someone above us started stomping the floors on and off all night. Stay away from room 118 next to breezeway. Homeless people fighting in breezeway, that room hears all the traffic. Bedding clean. Pictures make this place look better than it is. Manager nice but not available at 8:00 a.m. when checking out. Would not stay there again.

This is an okay place to sleep, nothing more. ||PROS:|- Quiet, boring neighborhood|- No gangbangers in sight|- Small microwave and fridge in a small “kitchen” area||CONS: |- Old rooms|- Bathroom design makes it tricky to get your towel without getting the floor wet or rubbing against the toilet|- No carpet, not well swept (so you can feel dust when barefoot)|- No pool, no fitness center, no nothing|- No coffee in office, as promised on website||You might not miss the switch-and-bait coffee so much, as your overall expectations should be low. It’s more evidence that management isn’t trying to make this a luxury resort and/or they’re too lazy to update the website, and nobody (customers and hotel staff) cares or notices. ||Not sure if the Mexican restaurant on site is a pro or a con. You get what you pay for. I just used the room to sleep, as that is all it’s pretty much meant for. A roof over your head and a bed. I tried taking a shower, but could not get any hot water. For $67/a night and a $50 deposit, I can’t really complain about how dated everything is. The room and everything in it looks like it’s from the 80’s, hence some things don’t work. Oh well, a night is a night.

I'm fairly a new client. However, the past couple of months have been nothing but the best custerner service, always finding a way to accommodate me. The rooms have always been clean and smelling great. Thanks to all the people who work at Alura.

Positive: Staff Negative: Sheets & Pillows are extremely old. Towels are old. Bring your own would be best.
