Aloft Wilmington at Coastline Center

Rooftop bar amazing!!! Views and service were top notch. Nicole was a rockstar with a great attitude. Live music on point! Well done! Everything else, one star! Poor construction practices…..you can hear everything, toilets from other rooms above flushing and water rushing down the pipes in the wall at the head of the bed! The barista, she was absolutely terrible. She literally sat on her phone with me sitting there waiting for service. She saw me and continued to be useless on her phone, I had to approach her directly to get service and it was clear she wasn’t interested in being a quality customer service representative much less a welcoming individual greeting people during there morning activities. I would definitely go to the bar again…..never staying at this hotel again.

I discovered the Aloft after being displaced at check-in due to the condition of the hotel next door, the Hotel Ballast by Hilton. I’m so glad I did! The Aloft offers a very solid experience with easy parking right up front and spacious, clean, modern rooms. The rooftop deck is a fantastic spot to enjoy cocktails and snacks, and it’s easily walkable to nearby restaurants. I walked across to Ruth's Chris and had a delicious filet mignon. The hotel features a restaurant on the lobby level, a snack bar, a beautiful lobby, and all the amenities you would need. It’s definitely a better option than the Hotel Ballast. From the start, the hotel impresses with its unique design, as part of it is housed in an old restored historic warehouse building, while the newer tower contains the guest rooms.

The Aloft in Wilmington, North Carolina, was a great find. It features nice, spacious rooms, terrific and friendly hospitality at the front desk, and a beautifully designed lobby in an old historic warehouse adjacent to the new hotel tower. I loved that you could park your car right at the front door and walk into the lobby. Parking rates are substantially lower than those at surrounding hotels.||They also offer a valet option, but I’m not sure what the point of that is, given the easy self-parking right by the door. The location is fantastic and walkable to everywhere within the downtown area along the river, with several great restaurants and shops nearby.||The hotel boasts a restaurant and bar on the lobby level, as well as a rooftop bar with spectacular views of the river and the Battl

A gem right on the water, this hotel is full of small nooks surrounding the lobby where you can take a break or get out of your room to do work. The staff is incredibly friendly, engaging and ready to meet any request. I needed an iron and ironing board to head to an event and they were delivered within 5 minutes. As a frequent traveler, I look for properties that make me feel welcome and offer a relaxed atmosphere, this checks all boxes! Had a discussion with a staff member named Susan about the history of this hotel, which is built on an old train station. I will be back!

Rooms are cozy and clean. Valet service was exceptional. Walls are a little thin so you can sometimes hear adjacent rooms if they’re loud. Overall, a great experience!
