Aloft Santa Clara

I usually stay here for work and the rooms are clean and has a functional layout for a week stay. There’s live music in the lobby bar some days, which is nice. There’s live music gym is small but useful with some free weights and two treadmills. I’ve never used or seen the pool but know that it exists. My only gripe is that you have to pay for parking if you stay in the lot attached to the property and the side of the street closest to the hotel but can park for free on the other side of the street. Also the shower water pressure is weak.

The staff here was amazing. Very kind and personable. Made the stay amazing and safe. When my young son would come down to get a snack they were so good to him. Very safe and clean facility. Room was very comfortable and lovely. Rooms are on small side but the price is quite reasonable for the quality and amenities. I am in higher end hotels several times a month and this was competitive with even the highest end. Stay here with confidence.

Starting out, the staff was great, very responsive and helpful. There were quite a few things that fell short, which in aggregate weren’t great and I actually opted for a different hotel. WiFi is terrible. Constantly showing the splash screen to reconnect but that page fails to load. WiFi is also very slow, with no upsell for a faster version First Marriott property I’ve stayed at in quite a while without the option for Netflix/Prime/etc. There’s a freight train that rolls through several times a day that shakes the whole hotel. The parking isn’t free, which was weird for the hotel and location. Great blackout blinds, but there is a smoke detector that flashes brightly. Staff was nice, the room was nicely prepped, clean, no funky smells. There is a sort of mechanical humming noise that was 24/7 in my room, a bit above faint but it was fine for me... almost like a white noise. I imagine some might be annoyed by it tho, just to make you aware. Otherwise, no complaints.

Shower water pressure was mediocre shower water. Temperature was mid staff was doing karaoke when we walked up. Had to wait in line to check in and hear bad singing to boot staff really doesn’t care. Beds were hard as a rock. Room was smartly designed. Pay parking is mandatory. Really cute trash pandas on the east side Bet part.
