WoodSpring Suites Gainesville I-75

I read many negative reviews so I was weary when I booked a 9 night stay, tonight is night 1. If you complain about bugs, your complaint is justified. If you complain about ameneties, the beds, or pretty much anything else, remember this is the cheapest hotel in all of Gainesville. It's clean, actually surprisingly clean, the room looks new, bed is on a metal frame but who cares, I've had 4 spine surgeries, the mattress is A1. Hallways were cleaned as I arrived and look and smell spic and span. If you want 5 star, go down the road and pay for 5 star. This place doesn't pretend to be a 5 star hotel. Right now city is booked as there's an event, 5 star rooms are 500usd/night, this hotel is 100usd! Great spot, great value, I'll be back. Corey

Hotel was clean but not good for families. Outdoor parking area is sketchy. Saw some homeless living in their car. Did not feel safe. kitchen is bare, no plates, pots or cups. Frig was dirty. Three days stay and housekeeping never cleaned our room. Had to go to front desk every day to get towels. Staff was nice. Busy weekend if not I would have moved to another hotel.

Positive: I needed a place to sleep near the Interstate. I got that. Negative: Although the refrigerator interior was spotless, its exterior was rusty. The bed mattress was thin; the bed springs squeaked loudly every time I moved. The A/C upon arrival was set to 60 degrees (to mask odors?) and was noisy.

The good: the room was clean and the A/C worked. Otherwise it was mostly like a stay at a minimum security prison. The institutional basic beds were stiff and uncomfortable with crappy pillows. Also, when requesting extra pillows we were just told none available. Everything everywhere smells strongly of cleaning chemicals, so good I guess that they are working on keeping it clean but begs the question why so much and so strong? Shortly after checking in and realizing what we were in for, my wife asked that we stay only 2 of 3 nights booked and could we get a refund for the third night. We were told no on the refund but the guy at the front desk did helpfully tell us we could leave any time we wanted. Well thank you Warden, much appreciated! Not what we expected. Pictures of the place are WAY better than what is actually there. The place is rundown and disgusting. There is always trash everywhere and I mean everywhere- by the entrance is an overflowing trash can that smells so so bad with flies all around! There are horrible smells all the time from people smoking weed to not washing themselves. When we were here, there were people overdosing in the parking lot, fighting and smoking weed with employees in front of children... not a good place at all. The keys aalways had to be re-keyed, there was dogs barking all hours of the day... There is a LOT of people that use this place as a home...there was ONE positive in the whole thing... the lady and gentleman that were cleaning rooms were very polite and tried to help as much as
