WoodSpring Suites Charlotte-Arrowood

I stayed at this hotel about two weeks ago, and while I try to give places the benefit of the doubt, my overall experience here was extremely disappointing. The one positive I can acknowledge is that the room itself was clean when I arrived. Unfortunately, that was about the only good part of the stay. The biggest issue was the front desk staff, who appeared to be the managers or individuals in leadership positions. Their level of professionalism was concerning. The way they interacted with guests was dismissive and unwelcoming, and what stood out even more was how they spoke to employees working under them. I cannot say enough incredible things about WoodSpring Suites Charlotte–Arrowood — specifically Deidra (the manager) and Justin at the front desk. I traveled to Charlotte for one of the most important events of my career — a board examination for my professional license. Unfortunately, there was a booking issue through Expedia that was completely outside of the hotel’s control, and it resulted in my reservation not being processed correctly. After traveling and preparing for such a high-stakes exam, finding out there was a problem with my room created an overwhelming amount of stress and anxiety. The hotel itself was nice and our room was clean. The kitchen and spacious layout were great. The location was quiet and clean. Employees were pleasant. I would have definitely stayed again if it weren't for the awful smell of cigarette smoke in our room. We drove 6 hours back home to find that all of our belongings and our persons came back with that smell. I went straight home showered and washed everything I could. Clothes, coats, hair... only to get back in my car later and find that it too still smelled like cigarette smoke. I'd never stay there, unless you're a smoker! It as though people live there and while our room was advertised as non-smoking, that was NOT the case. Horrible!

Stayed over Thanksgiving holiday and everything was great. The rooms were clean and very spacious. I loved that the rooms had a full size fridge and 2 burner stove top. We were able to store our snacks and leftovers without any problems. The staff was nice. The guy who checked us in J. Holmes was upbeat and professional. When we were checking in he was mopping the floor, it had the place smelling good. It reminded me of home. He is the type of employee that I would love to have work fir me. The staff really takes great care of the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional place to stay while in Charlotte. 10 out of 10!

Disappointing stay – Avoid if possible. I am literally writing this review while the fire alarms have been blaring for over 10 minutes with no resolution. To make matters worse, the room has a heavy stench of cigarette smoke, despite the "non-smoking" policy. The online photos are incredibly misleading; the actual condition of the property does not match the professional pictures shown online. Very disappointed with the lack of maintenance and cleanliness.
