Wingate by Wyndham Waldorf/National Harbor

I reserved through a 3rd party and when I arrived they did not have the room I reserved available and the front desk asked for my debit card and charged my card separately from the third party. The front desk said they would refund the charge on my card. Never happened and now they won’t respond to me and I’m stuck paying $180 from a third party and $154 from this hotel for a room they didn’t even have available. I ended up having to go and pay for another room at the Spark Hilton next door and had no issues with them. Why are they charging people twice and not refunding them?

I recently stayed at the Wingate and overall had a very pleasant experience. The room was extremely spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the air quality in the room was great. Check-in was quick and easy especially with pre-check-in. Just a tip: make sure your reservation card and pre-check-in card match to avoid duplicate charges. I had that issue, but the staff was quick to reverse it and I received my money back right away. The staff members were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I also appreciated the convenient checkout options; you can select your checkout time, request a late checkout, or even tip staff online. That made the process very smooth. Positive: Able to do cash security deposit and get cash back upon checkout.Blow dryer worked.Heat and AC worked.Had fridge. Negative: Light had 2 bulbs but only one worked.Water pooled in tub while showering since drain wouldnt stay open so I had to fold up soap box and wedge it to keep the drain open and water flowing down. Rust spots in tub.No comforter(s). Bedding dif on each bed.

1. The hotel only had one housekeeper working which meant rooms were delayed. 2. Room 210, the white shade is malfunctioning. I had to move the wooded bench to the window and manually roll the shade up to prevent complete darkness. 3. The shower is filled with mildew and the shower head has lime, rust, and mildew. Went to Walmart to purchase some CLR to spray the shower head. 4. The shower door does not close!!! This hotel use to be up to par, what happened? Wyndham no longer care??? The carpet is horribly dirty throughout the hotel and the couches and chairs in the lounge area are ragged. I paid $500+ to stay in what looks like a low income used up apartment in the Bronx. Wyndham you got to do better!!!!! I’ll stick with Hilton and Marriot Bonvoy’s finest.

This property is in desperate need of a renovation. Stayed for one night because my visit got cut short and I’m honestly thankful it was. Checked-In: waited several minutes for someone to come to front desk; he only came because the phone was ringing otherwise who knows how long I would’ve been waiting. The room: had to literally slam the door to open and close the door. Room is huge bust disgusting. Dead bugs on the wall: cracks in bathroom floor; peeling paint everywhere; someone’s old soap bar on top of shower; shower door didn’t move/work so water goes everywhere when you shower; shower was moldy and dirty; window curtain didn’t work. The property: suspicious characters in the parking lot including folks on the side of the building all night; potholes in the parking lot. I felt unsafe.
