Wingate by Wyndham Columbia / Lexington

My family and I have been staying at this hotel for our frequent road trips from Florida to New Jersey over the past 2 years. We used to LOVE staying here; It was our go to hotel and would stay at least once every 2 months for a night. The hotel has been sold to new owners and has gone downhill. It has become a real DUMP. We will not longer be booking here!

I stayed here while visiting friends that recently relocated to the area from NJ. The room was very clean, breakfast was delicious and the staff was courteous and helpful. Most importantly, the property felt safe. That is a must when traveling to an unfamiliar place. I will definitely return on my next visit.

My stay was wonderful! Front desk at check in and 3rd shift were both very kind. The room was impeccably clean and I loved the little touches! Y|It was a perfect get away night! Thank you!

Lovely property conveniently off the interstate, close to a couple of places to eat. Lobby and breakfast area nicely decorated, and the breakfast attendant was friendly and did a great job keeping everything stocked. Breakfast today was biscuits, gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, grits, make-your-own waffles and the usual options of toast, bagels, muffins, cereal,and yogurt. The room was large, clean, and the A/C worked great. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well because it was nice and quiet. The only complaint was that the room smelled strongly of dog. Not sure why, because a sign at the desk clearly states no pets. The dog smell was like a dog had been living there quite a while. It may have been something in the HVAC system, and frankly I prefer that to the stench of old cigar

Having been sold by the previous wingate owners, the new ownership seems to have no sense of "seamless transition" when it comes to acquiring a new to you property. They have lost their hot food license and no longer have a hot breakfast. The selection of the remaining items has dwindled significantly including the lack of bottles of water. The staff is for the most part friendly. It has gone significantly downhill. I have been staying at this hotel for work for the last 1.5 yrs and this is the worst it has ever been.
