White Springs Manor

We had a family getaway with 2 adult children. We stayed in the Playhouse. It served our purposes well. Game night, long talks, crazy antics. No worry for how loud we were and quiet as can be for sleeping. Some "old building" smell but nothing that set off allergies.

We stayed in the dining room suite and it was very nice. The manor itself is in need of some maintenance but I guess that should be expected when staying in an old property like this. It just adds to the charm. Excellent view of the vineyard, Seneca lake, and a field. It was very peaceful sitting on the porch out back.

The location was as expected but the property was terribly neglected. Upon arrival, our group of four commented on the charm of the building, but quickly noticed the significant contrast between the website photos and in-person experience.The building had a wonderful historic feel, but also felt very neglected. Tons of spider and cobwebs surrounded each window in our room, the pretty front porch overlooking the lake was covered in large piles bird feces. The chairs were also covered; we could not enjoy the outside area. The landscaping was not maintained, possibly at all in 2025 and only had overgrown shrubs, weeds and seemingly no attempt to welcome guests. We stayed in the playhouse. When we walked in the door the musty, moldy smell hit me. When I was brushing my teeth, a bug ran across the floor. The tub didn’t drain well, so it was almost like taking a bath while showering. No staff on site so you have to call or go to the Belhurst property itself (which is a couple miles away). No WiFi. The furnishings didn’t just feel outdated (and curtains), but not well kept. The trim around the tub was decayed from water damage. The trim around the jacuzzi also looked to have water damage. Ice is available in the Manor but not the house. The playhouse (and manor) is not on the lake.

My husband and I chose to stay here for our anniversary getaway. The property is full of charm (albeit showing it's age in some ways). My poor review is for the fact that when I called the Bell Hurst front desk for help (there is no staff at the manor property, which they make clear) with a concern of a beeping alarm in the building, Kristen at the front told me that maintenance would not arrive until tomorrow. When I asked if there was any way for a different accommodation so we could have our child free night of sleep in peace, she told verbatim that she had more important issues to deal with and could not help me at the moment. My husband went to find it and unplugged it himself. Truly "alarmed" at the lack of customer service at such a beautiful place.
