Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Geneva

My boyfriend took me to Geneva for my birthday weekend and we stayed here for our weekend. This hotel was more than we ever expected and the service was amazing! The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. They went out of the way to give my boyfriend one of their best rooms when he told them he was bringing me there for my birthday weekend. We had an awesome room probably one of the best hotel rooms we've had for such a reasonable price! And the continental breakfast well let's just say it was way more than a continental breakfast! It was truly the best breakfast we have ever experienced in all of our travels again at the price range that we typically look for in a hotel as we are hard-working average folks. For the price, this place was great. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. It definitely surpassed all expectations which was really nice. Saved us about $25 a day! I will say the only bad we encountered was that God awful sofa bed. There was absolutely no cushion in the mattress but everything else...A++.

The hotel was perfect for what I needed- clean, cozy, relatively quiet (there was a sports team staying right next to me on both sides and across the hall from me but they were good kids). Everyone on the staff that I encountered was also professional, kind, and helpful. My ONLY issue was that I got home and found a miscellaneous $20 charge on my credit card from the hotel and I'm still not certain why? I'm looking into it. The extra charge is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. I was disappointed about being charged the extra amount. I felt blindsided. :( Again, I will look into it and, yet, I would stay there again. 4 and half stars...

Positive: Hotel is very clean, beds were very comfortable, and the front desk staff was lovely, helpful and efficient. When we walked in, we were greeted by the smell of baking cookies, which were delicious. Negative: Both the shower and sink were slow draining, but we were only there for one night, so not a huge problem.

The rooms are a bit dated: (eg small TV, odd lighting) but the location is great for exploring Geneva and the lakes region and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The value is great for this area as other properties are either subpar (dirty and smelly). or much more expensive. Stayed here multiple times and never had an issue.
