West Shore Motel

... the City of New York uses this place to house welfare cases. Plus when I turned the TV on, it was showing a gay porno movie. The air conditioner worked fine (it was a hot day when I stayed there), and the bed and the bathroom were clean.

It is what you make it. It is the cheapest motel on the south shore. Its by no means nice but i found it bearable. Location is prime as you are walking distance to target, shop rite, home depot, bed bath and beyond, a very nice shopping center where you can get anything you need. There are definitely some shady characters here but if you are just looking for a place to sleep you will be fine. Update: I had to come here with my son for the night, obviously not for vacation. The woman working the desk overnight was HORRIBLE. The room stunk of cigarette smoke and there were cigarette burns in the comforter. The cable didn’t work and neither did the phone. The place is covered in roaches and other bugs when i went to sleep I found a dead bee in the bed under the pillow looks like it was there for years I dont think they ever cleaned the sheets or even replaced them. I asked for a smoking room and the women at the desk gave me a non smoking room and then at check out wanted me to pay to have to the room deep cleaned cause I did smoke cigarettes in the room. The other people who where staying at the motel also where drug addicts and kept asking me to buy coke I felt very unsafe the time that I spent there

The staff are great and the rooms are always clean and its comfy. You sometimes can see deer and other woodland creatures from your window but don't worry there's a fence so they can't get into your room. There's a woodland area you can walk through back there and see the deer grazing. On the other side of that it's like another time. This lodge has recently been on the last season of the television series of "Ray Donovan" So if you're looking to rest in a good affordable place with good staff come on by!

So this wasn't our first choice, after all else failed and the 45 minute's looking for West Shore, we took the room on the first floor near the office which I thought would be more convenient(safe). When we got inside I turned the TV on it was stuck on a porn channel. I had to go to the front desk to get it off. The room was run down and dirty. The place had a lot of shady people walking around and coming and going all through the day and all night. To top it all off the Staff was not pleasant at all.
