Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites New York Staten Island

Stayed at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites New York Staten Island and had a very comfortable experience overall. The hotel was clean, modern, and well maintained, from the lobby to the rooms. The room itself was spacious, quiet, and exactly what you want after a long day—comfortable bed, good shower, and plenty of outlets. There was a little disorganized moment with the shuttle to the port, but the lady at the front desk stepped in and fixed everything quickly. She was helpful, calm, and made sure everyone got where they needed to go without issue. The rest of the staff was friendly and professional, check-in and check-out were easy, and breakfast was solid for a complimentary option. Parking was convenient, which is a big plus in the area. We arrived on a Saturday around 8 pm. It was 40 outside, the beds did not have blankets, or comforters, just scratchie sheets and a coverlet.|The beds were hard, and the pillows were like sand bags.|We had to ask for room care, from Sat. to Wednesday they only cleaned once.|When I asked why - they couldn’t say.|One morning I went to the coffee bar only to find no cups, no creamers.|Stupid I know, but it was 9am and saw very few patrons.Small stuff, but I don’t like having to “ ask” for things that I’m paying for.

This has been the worst stay of my entire existence. It started when I was checked into a dirty room; followed by being moved to a smoke filled room; leading to another room and having my personal towels stolen by housekeeping I was told some would get back to me needless to say I’m still waiting. Lastly I made a request my room to be cleaned to come back to a dirty room. To top it all off they fire staff for giving water to guest with medical devices. I swear I will never stay at this hotel again I’d rather sleep in my car before staying here. Worst recommendation ever I wanted to leave on day one unfortunately New York just so happen to have all other rooms in the surrounding area booked. Oh let me not forget the manger assured me he’d add points to my account for the first night errors

The location was great to Newark airport but service was subpar. If you have 2 days or more you have to personally request housekeeping. This led to a misunderstanding and no housekeeping for day 2.

Not sure how is this hotel a 4 star hotel. Its much worst than 1 star I guess. Anyway not sure where to start. Front desk Service reps are good enough to take care of the questions/concerns. Entire hotel from the entrance to the room, are so much strong fragrance smell. I have a bad allergy to the smells and this is certainly to avoid forever on our list. Parking is certainly not sufficient for all guests however can park on the back which seems like the scene from the ghost town, glad our car did not got broken into for the night we stayed. I am elite Bonvoy member, was expecting an upgrade but was disappointed. Anyway this is ignorable. The folks outside rooms, hotel parking lot etc were so noisy entire night, please avoid at any cost this place. Couldn’t sleep, thought we paid for
