Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island

So we stayed here before and did not have a great experience at that time. Had no choice due to lack of accommodations on SI so gave it another shot. If you love the smell of weed in the hallways and at the entrance, then you will love it. We do not. There was noe scaping the overwhelming smell of it. I literally ended up so nauseus because I can't handle it. The bathrooms in this hotel are so rundown and nasty. Check in staff is pleasant, no issues with staff. If you can stay elsewhere, I'd recommend it. I'm hoping next time to just stay with family but if not, we are forced to stay here or the sister hotel which also gets bad reviews.

Our family stayed for one night. We appreciated the free parking with plentiful lots. Excellent room condition and nicely maintained, very clean. Looks recently renovated. Nice complementary breakfast was provided! Highly recommendable for a family trip.

Solid stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island! Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfy (great beds, microwave/fridge, modern setup—better than expected for the price). Service was friendly and helpful (quick check-in, good recommendations). Free hot breakfast was a nice bonus—waffles, eggs, fresh fruit. Location is convenient—close to Staten Island Mall, highways, and easy NYC access, though not super walkable to much else. Quiet and comfortable overall—great value for a short trip!

The hotel was very festive during our stay, which we loved. They had large nutcrackers at the entrance, multiple Christmas trees, garlands with twinkle lights, and even a menorah. The staff was extremely friendly, especially Rosa, who noticed me admiring the decorations and recommended checking out the nearby Hilton Garden Inn for its larger Christmas tree and yummy restaurant. She said the food was good and it’s conveniently close. Our initial room was a handicap-accessible room on the first floor, but it smelled strongly of smoke and showed significant wear, with stains on the walls and peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. I had a horrible experience during this stay that was supposed to be a romantic Valentine’s Day trip. The climate controls in the room were malfunctioning and it was over 80 degrees the entire time we were there. The room phones didn’t dial out to the front desk or housekeeping so I had to walk to the lobby at 1 in the morning to beg for maintenance to come fix it. The ladies at the front desk wouldn’t even call anyone until I looked at their ridiculous card with “instructions” on it and verify that I had tried that first. The instructions consisted of telling me “the temperature is controlled either by a wall thermostat or a window unit”. So helpful thanks. Security showed up 30 minutes later and couldn’t fix it and said they’d have someone look at it after we checked out the next day. I
