Wayland Campground

Wonderful campground, redwoods galore, lots of shade, deer walking through the park, nearby hiking trails in the park for all levels, and the best coastal drive on planet earth is just down the road. Campground has hot showers for tokens, $1 for 5 mins, and there are some small restaurant and general store options within just a few miles. Laundry available on site for a fee!

had mixed feelings about this place. the drive down from Monterey is definitely beautiful, plenty of place to pull over and take photos. wayland camp ground is nice and clean . i felt like they really tired to maximize camping spots to accommodate the inflex of people who want to enjoy big sur. your neighbors are close + it's a very popular destination. i mean everything about this place is beautiful. from the water flowing through the campground, to the trees, the deer, breathe it all in. if you are looking for place to be left alone, not acknowledge or smiled at this is your spot. while walking along the camp grounds and trails not one person, including campground staff, had a smile on or returned a little hello or good morning. not saying it's a requirement but come on.. we are all t

Nice place. It was only about 1/4 full so it was pretty quiet. Good day hikes. I understand why, but not being able to use hammocks or guy lines on trees is unfortunate. the table was the only place to tie off dog when I could not hold the leash.

The best Campground. They have flushing toilets, showers, and a little convenience store.
