Wayfinder Newport

The a/c in the room was not working, and I had to get ready for an event. It was in the 80's that day and room located on top floor so very hot. Maintenance did come and fix, but it took quite some time for it to kick in and cool the room down. That night when I got back, I turned the tv on. Apparently remote batteries died, and I could not change channel or turn tv back off. Had to call maintenance again around midnight. They had to go behind tv to turn it off (tv was hung on wall and I was not able to reach the plug to do it myself). There is NO water pressure; my daughter did not wash her hair for the 2 nights we were there because it would have taken forever. Shelly was absolutely amazing — so attentive and genuinely kind. We were staying during a blizzard, and she went above and beyond in every possible way. She literally helped clean off our cars alongside maintenance, personally hand-delivered a microwave to our room, and checked in with us often to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Kevin was also fantastic, and the manager was incredibly accommodating by giving us a late checkout due to the storm. I truly cannot say enough great things about the staff here. Their care and dedication made a stressful weather situation so much easier and more comfortable. Highly, highly recommend!

Positive: The staff was super friendly. Large roooms with mini kitchen. Very clean. And the head chef is famous- competing on Gordon Ramsey’s Hells Kitchen in 2025. Excellent menu. Negative: Too far from downtown. Couldn’t walk to anything. It’s a modern interior design- well done but doesn’t match the expected charm of Newport.

We stayed at Wayfinder Hotel while attending a Navy OCS graduation in Newport, RI, and our experience was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. All of the staff were wonderful, but Shelly at the front desk truly went above and beyond. She made us feel like family and provided the best customer service I have ever experienced at any hotel or resort. When we asked if there was a microwave available to warm our tea, Shelly immediately contacted Mike from maintenance. Mike personally delivered a microwave to our room and even tested it to ensure it was fully operational before leaving. This level of attentiveness and service is rare. I loved this hotel! We went for a cozy off-season weekend trip and had the most amazing time. The rooms were well-designed, spotless, bright and airy. We also found our room to be quiet. The restaurant was amazing and the brunch was so great we went two days in a row. The best part of our stay was Shelley, a hotel employee. whose kindness and warmth made us feel so very welcome. It’s great to see how the Wayfinder has breathed so much life into a hotel space that has existed for so long. We can’t wait to come back when the weather is warmer!!!
