Customer Reviews
We had an amazing experience staying at the Marshall Slocum Inn. Everything was perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the inn is in a prime location that is walkable to just about everything in Newport. The free on-site parking was also a huge plus. We are already looking forward to returning!
We stayed 3 nights at this cozy place. I would call it guest house, because you feel like staying at friends home. The residential neighbor hood is very calm and the hotel very clean. The breakfast is very nice. The staff reserved us a warm welcome and helped on information about visiting.| Well located we had easy access to all highlights of the city (walking distance). Easy and large parking facilities appreciated.
🌿 A Perfect Newport Getaway at the Marshall Slocum Inn 🌿 From the moment we arrived, we could tell this was an established and well-loved bed and breakfast — every detail felt thought through. Our room (and our friends’!) was beautiful, spotless, and full of charm. The entire house felt so welcoming, like staying at your grandmother’s home — only with a refined, classic New England touch. We met fascinating guests from all over the world and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy common space — maybe a little too much! Having wine available for purchase and a table perfect for late-night card games was such a treat 🍷🃏. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of fresh pastries each morning, and all the thoughtful little touches made our stay extra special. I’m even making my husband buy the same matt
The rooms were very stylishly furnished and very clean. Everything appeared very well-maintained. The location is excellent. For the price, we would have expected more for breakfast. The breakfast is very simple. The breakfast photos on Google Maps are not up-to-date. Breakfast consists only of freshly baked pastries. It's not worth waiting for in the morning. The friendly staff, as other guests have written, was never to be seen. You were somehow alone from the afternoon onwards. Nevertheless, the stay was pleasant, which is also due to the beautiful Newport.
I travel to the Newport area several times a year for business, and for the last several years I’ve stayed exclusively at the Marshall Slocum Inn. The owners and staff are wonderful — I truly feel like family when I’m here. The Inn itself is warm, welcoming, and full of character, set in a beautiful historic building just a ten-minute walk from downtown.|Each room is unique and thoughtfully designed, and the beds are always comfortable — a real gift after long days of meetings. Staying here has become one of the highlights of my trips, and I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Newport.
