The Brenton Hotel

We recently spent a couple of nights at the Brenton Hotel in Newport and left thoroughly charmed. Our room was beautiful, and the dining and sitting area had a wonderfully relaxed vibe with stunning views of the harbor — exactly the kind of atmosphere you want on a getaway. Two things truly set the Brenton apart: the customer service and the experience they create for guests traveling with their dogs. From the moment we arrived, the staff made our pup feel like a valued guest in her own right, going above and beyond with thoughtful touches like dog-specific menu items for room service. Checking in was easy, and valet to park the car was very convenient. The rest of the stay was less than stellar. We’re two 30 year olds that probably look younger and our service at the restaurant was crap. We watched table after table get waters and orders put in before we even got a hello. And after that, we again watched everyone else get preferential treatment as if our money wasn’t good enough. This was the second time that this has happened. We were here meeting family about a year ago and had a similar experience. The food is always just okay, but the service is noticeably different when my parents dine with us. What a cute hotel with very good view from lobby and very nice bar in the lobby. They offer free icecream but they could be better but still good to have it. They give out even cute water too. Very nice and clean room and big bathroom enough spot to sit around too. The staffs are very friendly and definitely I will be back!!!

This was a great hotel! We visited Newport off season and the Brenton did not disappoint. Nice, clean rooms and you are just steps away from downtown Newport. A big thank you to Mackenzie and Bill at the hotel. I accidentally left my prescription glasses in my room. I didn't realize it until I got home. While I offered to pay for their return, Mackenzie assured me they would send them free of charge and Bill made it happen. If you've ever left anything at a hotel you know that getting things back can be hit or miss, especially when something needs to be mailed. But glasses aren't cheap and I'm thankful they sent them back to me ASAP.

I read several reviews about this hotel before booking my reservation, and I’m happy to report that I had an exceptional experience at The Brenton Hotel! I booked my trip through AMEX Fine Hotels and received all the perks that it came with. My room was immediately upgraded upon arrival and I believe it has everything to do with my visit occurring during the slow season since there were many more rooms available. The hotel is beautifully maintained and I was most impressed with the service. I was first greeted by David at the front desk. He’s the one who made sure I received my available upgrade. He wrote me a list of restaurants he recommended and was so personable, I could have talked to him for hours! I also want to recognize McKenzie, another front desk staff, who was just as pleasant
