The Cliffside Inn

Cliffside Inn is perfectly located in the heart of Newport, with easy access to restaurants, the mansions, and Cliff Walk, all within a short and pleasant walk. It is hard to imagine a more convenient or beautiful place to stay. What truly made our visit special for our party of 4, though, was the innkeeper and manager, Katie. She is kind, genuinely human, and deeply thoughtful. We had a meaningful conversation with her that stayed with us and elevated the entire experience. Her attention to detail and the care she puts into the property are evident everywhere, and it is clear how much of the inn’s warmth and smooth operation is thanks to her. In a bit of a hectic time (holidays and a baby on the way in 3 weeks) the thought of a baby moon celebration might have slipped my mind. Luckily The Cliffside Inn was here to make it look like I had been planning it for the last 8 months! From Bethany welcoming us in with a smile and tour of the beautiful main house to the exceptional amenities the Atlantic Suite offered, the stay was exactly what we needed. The whirlpool tub with fireplace by it's side was without a doubt our favorite feature, but the sunrise over First Beach visible from our window was a close second. As someone who has worked at two of Newport's most renowned hotels, the Chanler and the Castle Hill Inn, I can attest that the Cliffside Inn is on the same level of hospitality experiences as both of those properties. Our stay at Beatrice’s Room was beautiful and thoughtfully done. The hosts truly considered every detail, from the toiletries to the delicious and diverse breakfast offerings. Arrival and departure were seamless, even after hours, which made everything easy and stress-free. The inn is in a gorgeous Newport location—quiet and tucked away from the town center, yet close to everything. The history of the previous owner added an intriguing layer to the experience and made the stay feel even more special. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights. The staff, the accommodations and services were all incredible. The staff were very friendly and helpful in making sure our stay was as nice as possible. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The happy hour (wine and appetizers) was first class. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The gas fireplace in the room and spacious and modern bathroom made the room extra special. The gas fire pit outside was a perfect place to enjoy the fall air and read a book or at night enjoy some wine. You are very close to the Cliff Walk and also downtown restaurants. ||Thank you, Cliffside Inn, we will be back!

We had the best winter stay here. From the gas fireplace to the cozy window seat with an ocean view- it was such a delightful stay. The laid back atmosphere was so relaxing, and we enjoyed being so close to the cliff walk. There is so much to do in Newport and we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere but here in the future.
