WAFER 450 Hotel

Good value for the price in a great location. The room was very clean and well kept. Plenty of free parking and EV chargers on site. The check in process at night when nobody is in the office took a bit longer, but nothing too bad. You have to call a number, then they unlock the lobby door where you go in and complete check-in via video call on a kiosk. There is an El Pollo Loco right next door, so a quick 1 minute walk to get food. I'd say the best thing was the shower water pressure, it was amazing which is rare at hotels. The only things that kept it from being 5 star was that the blinds don't block out enough of the bright lights in the parking lot so the room didn't get very dark and the bed squeaked every time I moved. The front desk is unsupervised. You need to use a weird machine to check in via a zoom and the Indian guy who handled my remote check in had a strong Indian accent. It is honestly a bit hard to communicate. The lobby is not 24-hour and you need to call a number if you want to check in late or check out early. This is honestly the strangest check in process I have ever had, though it somehow makes sense given it is in the valley. ||The room was clean and capacious for the price. Though the amenities in the washroom are a bit worn-out. The toilet even is a bit wobbly. ||Many big tech companies are within 15 minutes of drive. There are some parking spots, including EV spots. The grilled chicken restaurant next door is pretty good.

Positive: The cleaning staff was wonderful. Negative: There was a dog in the room next door. The owner of the dog placed it in the bathroom when they left the room. The dog howled all day and all night. The bed was very uncomfortable. In order to get room service you had go to the unstaffed office.

Jenny was my virtual assistant checking in. It was easy. Jenny is really cute. I ❤️ Jenny. I had a King room. Room looks nice. Recently updated. There is a private room with a shower and toilet. The shower in my room was a smaller rain shower and someone had removed the water restrictor so the net result is a 5 star shower. One of the best showers I've experienced and I travel a lot. They made a poor choice on the flooring and used engineered (particle wood) flooring. The flooring is not doing great near the shower due to water. For longevity it would have been wise to use ceramic flooring. It looks great but there is some warping in a small area. The sink and mirror are in the main room. The hotel, for the price, is most excellent. The room was newly remodeled, European look and feel, but the floor boards were cracked and peeling up a bit. No biggie, just strange. The check in process was unique, a remote site operator using a kiosk did the check ins. It was not intuitive to begin (had to call from my mobile and wait for the office door to open). It took several attempts to read my drivers license on the remote device. At times it was difficult to understand the remote clerk's directions. I'd def return to this hotel for business in San Jose.
