Sonesta Simply Suites Silicon Valley - Santa Clara

I stayed at Sonesta Simply Suites during my summer internship, and greatly enjoyed my experience. Israel was very informative and accommodating with the booking process, even hosting events just for the interns, and the front desk was always helpful as well. Rooms are cleaned once a week and the kitchen is well-equipped with appliances and cooking supplies, and the hotel is located right next to the Caltrain station and SCU. Even with a room facing the station it wasn’t too loud, and there is a gym and laundry on-site. Would highly recommend for long-term hotel stays!

This hotel is a nightmare. I stayed here as some work was being done on our house, and it was shockingly bad. ||Cons: Black mold on the walls. A serious health hazard, not to mention gross. The kitchen light didn't work, but who needs light in the kitchen, right? Especially since the stove didn't work either, so no sense in cooking. The room was outfitted with the bare minimum in kitchen essentials - a few dishes, some chipped glasses, some silverware, one frying pan, and one small saucepan (gourmets should stay elsewhere). The lobby was a mess, and there was a strange musty smell in the stairwell. No daily service in the rooms, as they said the staff only cleans once a week. Front desk staff was rude. Positive: The space. It was quiet. Location less than 10 mins to the courthouse. Negative: Internet was spotty. Needs to be much better for business travelers.

I wanted to stay in this property for a while so finally I got a chance. This is a solid place all travelers should try this place, it's pretty awesome. Then like this post... Most units are Jr. suites and there are some one bedroom suites. The Jr suites are tastefully decorated, basic kitchen, full fridge, a large working desk, a recliner and even a "task board" but good enough to start, later you can borrow more items like toaster oven, blenders, rice cooker and more you can see In the pictures. Staff is nice responsive and helpful, if you're nice back, they go beyond to help you. If you travel a lot and want to save money on food, be in a great area, great staff like Rizza and Rich in charge of maintenance, front desk staff is very nice as well you must give this place a try. I’ve been staying here off and on for work for several months. The suites are well equipped, clean and comfortable. The few issues I’ve had were always quickly addressed by helpful and friendly staff. The location is safe and mostly quiet (CalTrain is very close and can be heard, but the sound insulation works well). Overall great experience at Sonesta Simply Suites!
