Ventana Campground

I have stayed here 4 times, and I obviously loved it enough to stay again most recently last week. I do prefer the redwood cabins over the canyon glamping experience. I am a person who has to make multiple trips to haul their stuff up to the site. It is a hike to get into that site. I was lucky enough to stay in the same Canyon cabin that I stayed at during my first visit. When I first came there were restrooms and more amenities. There was a convenience to the canyon cabins. Each year I have come here the amenities have decreased. Most recently all the restrooms were removed. Meaning, if you needed to use the restroom you would have to hike down for 5 mins to get to the bath house. As a woman this is a disservice to us all, especially for someone who may need to use the restroom at any g

A true outdoor glamping experience! Tucked into redwoods. Beautiful sites, extremely nice yurts with amenities. Sink, gas fireplace and a real bed with enough blankets to keep you warm. CLEAN bathroom trailers near your site and a fully equipped bathhouse. This is not a freaking hotel room. You are really in the redwoods and if you are in glamping sites 7-10 it’s a serious climb from parking to your site. Expect to encounter lots of bugs and hear raccoons and other forest creatures at night. (But the fully equipped yurt keeps the bugs out) If a tree branch falls - that’s what it happens in the forest. 🤦‍♂️ Or maybe complain that it’s foggy 🤷‍♂️ If you don’t want any of these things then stay at an actual hotel 🤣

AVOID!!! RATS IN THE ROOM! Yes the tent is small, the parking is too far away from the tent, and everything is very small, but these are “not good but ok”, however, one thing I cannot accept is there are RATS in the room and you cannot avoid them! There are holes on the tent cover everywhere and even there are some spaces that have wide open entrance for the rats that you cannot block(See the video). All my stuff have a cover but rats are just there the whole night(come in and out all the time) and make you unable to sleep. And the rats just shit everywhere! I know it is normal to see animals because it is in the forest but the tent provider should make sure no animal should be able to go inside the tent! I spent New Year’s at Ventana Campground, and it was an incredible experience! The campground is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The entire area was super clean, and the bathrooms were well-maintained with warm showers—a huge plus for any camping trip! I loved how secluded it felt while still being conveniently close to nearby stores in case you need to grab any extra camping gear or supplies. Everything about the stay was smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend Ventana Campground for anyone looking for a perfect escape into nature with all the comforts you need. Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent camping experience. Absurdly nice restroom facilities. They're so nice that they might give new campers the wrong expectations about camping. Avoid the hike in sites unless you're really good and packing and quite fit. It's difficult to camp there, but the unprepared will waste a lot of time muling gear back and forth.
