This was my first time visiting Vail. It is an absolutely beautiful place with some of the best mountain views I have ever seen. While there was no shortage of views this season, while we were there, unfortunately there was a shortage of snow. As an intermediate skier this made things a little more challenging; particularly when the runs were more ice and in some cases; scattered with dirt and even some rocks. The Back Bowls remained closed until our last day so we were fortunate to get the opportunity to experience the Blue Sky Basin. There is definitely something to be said about skiing amongst the trees. I even got to experience wiping out in a few feet of powder and having to figure out how to get back up and moving. Vail Village has plenty to do with great restaurants, shops an
I can't give this the most accurate review because only 92 trails were open and only 1 of the back bowls and I know people come here specifically to ski the back bowls but I'll review what I can. My friend and I came on a non-holiday weekend and skied Saturday and Sunday. Sunday there were not that many people there and we had no lift lines left except once when they had an issue with the lift. We tried to avoid the greens because there were an awful lot of catwalks and we had to do a lot of skating. I had just visited Whistler a week and a half before and compared to that, Vail is not very steep. At least not the front side of the mountain. But they had plenty of staff working and they were all nice. The gondolas and lifts were great, the lodges were beautiful, the signage was great. The
One of the marquee mountains in the US and the main resort under the epic pass. I would highly recommend checking it out but be prepared for some lines and slightly crowded slopes. There were a few runs closed but that is more a product of the poor winter they’ve had.
This year would wait to come. Not much snow and a lot of runs closed. Because of the intermittent warming there is a lot more ice than I have experienced in prior seasons. Also had a major issue with my daughter at the ski school. I have been here many times and I would definitely hope for better snow.
Vail Resorts is absolutely insane!! The mountain is so big it feels like you need a snack break and a life coach halfway through the day. Runs for every level, views that look photoshopped, and a village that makes you feel like you walked into a fancy ski movie. If Colorado had a CEO of skiing, Vail would be wearing the suit. If you disagree, that’s okay, everyone’s allowed to be wrong sometimes. 😄 Anyway: 10/10. Would freeze my face off again.
