Sonnenalp Vail

We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely return. The location is fantastic — so close to Vail Village, and the complimentary bus service made getting around incredibly easy. We especially loved the spa and the complimentary tea service, which was such a nice touch.||The front desk associate who checked us in was very kind and welcoming, and the concierge was extremely helpful and friendly, which made our arrival and stay feel very smooth and stress-free.||A few small notes about the room: even though it was very cold outside, the room stayed quite warm at night and we ended up sleeping with the door cracked every evening. The vanity plug-in mirror in our room didn’t work, and on the first night we placed the “no maid service” sign on the door, but housekeeping still entered and cleaned

We are repeat guests as the hospitality at the Sonnenalp is so good. The hotel is family owned, and they pay close attention to detail. The housekeeping service is exceptional (a rarity post covid). There is an excellent choice of services from "budget" (this is Vail after all) to very fine dining.

I wish we would have had a phenomenal stay after spending over $1500 for two nights...however we were quite disappointed. The staff were lovely and accommodating, the but rooms were subpar, and the beds were quite uncomfortable. The worst part of our stay was the construction noise that happened right outside of our room for the full two days we stayed - this was for aesthetic repairs that the hotel did not warn us about. We did follow-up with the hotel about the noise, however we were not offered any solution except "next time we will place you in a different room." There will be no next time from us, and honestly, if you're looking for a true top tier Vail hotel experience, I recommend the Four Seasons - it is a much more comfortable and luxurious stay.

The location is in the heart of Vail Village. The suite was very well appointed and very cozy and the entire resort was spotless. There were people careful attending to it constantly. The service was excellent, from fresh water bottles and cookies nightly at turndown to just knowing how to care for guests. This property was everything it should be, and the breakfast buffet could end wars.

Our stay at the Sonnenalp was amazing. Anyone looking for a true Alpine feel, this is the hotel for you. Super charming; the staff was very friendly and accommodating; the location is very good; near shops and restaurants. This was my first stay at the Sonnenalp; I will definitely be going back again.
