We are staying at Vacation Village at Bonaventure this week. It ain’t the Ritz—and to be fair, I’m the dumbass who thought buying a timeshare 25 years ago was a good idea. The unit itself is VERY dated. Furniture and appliances feel decades old, there’s no real cooktop (just a hot plate), and the infrastructure overall seems like it hasn’t had major investment in a long time. One pool is closed and there’s a mandatory resort fee (annoying because the pool chairs all get reserved or occupied within moments of the pools’ opening despite signage—a bizarre chair mafia thing going on that prevented us from using facilities at Mizner two weeks ago). When I expressed concern to management (Elsbe?) I was told the resort fee is also for the safe and parking lol—it was a well rehearsed script. T

This review will give everyone the best insight into what to expect when you stay at Vacation Village at Bonaventure. I have been staying at this resort for 26 years and have logged over 75 weeks as a guest during that time frame. The resort used to have two pristine, championship golf courses, the racquet club next door, and the Bonaventure Spa, which was not associated with Vacation Village but had good amenities that were available to all. One golf course was replaced by Botaniko, a very high end residential development, and the other was allowed to run down to where it was almost unplayable. They have turned the conditions around so that the course is in better shape. Bonaventure Spa closed and was demolished, leaving massive piles of crushed concrete on the land. The racquet club rema

#Fail #NeedsRenovation. As VV owners of over 20yrs, came to Vacation Village Bonaventure to escape from the snow up north by going down to sunny FL for my wife's birthday. Informed VV at Weston/Bonaventure staff well in advance that we were 1. coming for my wifes birthday, 2. VV owners 3. requested higher up room and not to face the parking lot. They gave us 1. 402B(lower floor) in the Sandpiper that 2. looked like an apartment from the 80s, 3. looked out over the parking lot, 4. the room's door lock device literally fell out as we tried to go in, 5. room window looked out over the parking lot, 6. room WIFI wouldn't provide internet 7. the fridge ice maker didn't even have a water line, 8. you had to go to a whole different building for ice, 9. the old microwave in the room shorted out /

I have been traveling to this resort for ovet 15 years and have never had any issues with my unit. However, this stay was not the usual cleaned rental as before. The bedding was not cleaned. Sheets, has stains on them and appeared as if the maid just pull the comforter over the previous guest stay. The shower has streaks of dirt around the bottom of it, and the jacuuzzi tub was dirty. Though this was quite disappointing, the night supervisor was apologic and had fresh linen delivered to the unit. No maid service was available, therefore I change the linen myself and went to the store and purchased cleaning products and thoughly clean the bath and bedroom so my family can take a bath and shower in a clean bathroom. As well as feel comfortable sleeping on clean bedding.

Property is well kept and clean. Unit I received was very outdated but clean. Bathroom must be at least 25 yrs old, but was clean. No counter space in bathroom. Carpet in bedroom is worn and needs replacement. Bed was comfortable. Drapes did pretty good job keeping light out. AC is powerful but very noisy. TVs were a nice size 60". When you get out of the elevator ,there was no sign stating which room numbers are left/right. Check in is a mile away from the property . My reservation was with Vacation Village at Bonaventure. We were put in Heron 1 building - way down the road. I think the buildings on the main Vacation Village property where you check in maybe nicer. $150 deposit and $16.95/day resort fee. I checked in at 11pm and was leaving early and asked for the resort fee to
