University Inn Vestal

Run don't walk away from this hotel. Rooms are ok, but many items broken or missing. Check-in staff unhelpful. 1st room hadn't been cleaned. Halls were dirty, ice machine broke. Seems that the "hotel" is housing the displaced so the lobby is being used as their living room. Breakfast minimal. Worst placed I've ever stayed in.

We stayed in late March 2024. We arrived late and were greeted by Shawn, the night manager. He was incredibly helpful and friendly. He came up personally to make sure that everything was ok with the room. He then very quickly arranged for extra bedding. He is clearly a very committed, hard worker, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Was called the day of my arrival, May 8 2024, informing me of a water leak. Was told they transferred my reservation to the Quality Inn. Quality Inn rates $90 for same night, yet I was charged the rate for the University Inn, $182. for one night. Not fair. I am owed money. Cannot reach University Inn. Do not answer their phones!

This place is nasty . Raw sewage pouring from ceiling into pool. Entire plumbing system backed up and the hotel is still operating like nothing is wrong . After this problem is fixed I highly doubt that the cheap owner will have this professionally cleaned and sanitized. I would definitely not have my family stay at this hotel or swim in this pool for that matter.Yuck

Breakfast is non-existent. It’s Cheerios and bagels. Apple juice is out of order and orange juice is watered down. When I inquired if that was really it, I was told “we aren’t a branded hotel.” Night guy was nice. The place is run down and sketchy. Bed was comfortable. Daughter said the pullout sofa was dirty.
