Residence Inn by Marriott Binghamton

I was a little concerned when I booked after reading all of the reviews stating that it needed updating but it was a wonderful stay. Does it look a little dated? Yes, but they are in fantastic condition and very clean. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, we totally enjoyed our room. The breakfast had lots of great options. We would come back in a heartbeat!

The property had several cleanliness and maintenance issues that were disappointing. The toilet was filthy, and the sink drain was left sitting on a kitchen towel, which felt unsanitary. The stairs and railings were filthy, buildings are in need of repair work/paint, a dirty towel was left on the grass for days and the refrigerator door needed a proper cleaning. The sofa bed was in terrible condition with holes throughout. The mattress pad was extremely thin and offered little comfort. Only a small bottle of dish soap was provided—about 10% full—which wasn’t sufficient for a longer stay. Additionally, the potholes in the parking lot were massive, making it difficult and uncomfortable to drive or park.||On the positive side, the AC worked excellently, and there were no unpleasant smells. Positive: Staff was nice Negative: The showerhead barely worked, the toilet was flushing very slowly & you could see the poo there from before, it was more like a motel with the doors outside. 2 floors so no elevators (at least not where our room was). Could have been a lot better.

Currently writing this review at 4am. Do not get a room on the first floor. The room directly above us you can hear every step they take. For the last half hour all I’ve heard was stomping, running and jumping, going on while I speak. That being said the rooms are nice and clean.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The manager Michael Koch and his employees like to commit fraud. When I left the room it was perfectly fine, me and my daughter cleaned it and made sure everything was in order. Then 2 days later I check my account to find a $500 charge. I called the hotel and was told by Mr Koch that I broke the TV by throwing the remote at it and the remote was smashed all over the floor. This must be his way of getting new stuff for his rooms because I found other reviews of the same thing happening to people at this same hotel. If you do stay here video your room on the way out so if you do get a charge like this you can get these people arrested.
