Nice little spot with privacy. Stayed at spot 2. Had to park our car along the roadway for room. Was able to fit a 10 person tent but the ground wasn’t the most level so it took some time to find a place to pitch it. Little sharp rocks so be careful, would also recommend an air mattress to sleep on. Very buggy (late May) so make sure to bring plenty of bug spray. Head nets wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Campsite 1 looked to be quite large compared to ours. Union river miners trail was right near us and offered a nice hike with small water falls and sites of old collapsed mine with some informational signs along the way. The scenery and trails were top notch and make this a good spot to stay.

Wonderfully woodsy, very private feeling campground with only 3 sites. Camped at site UR02 for 4 nights at the end of May. Bug nets will be your best friend if mosquitoes and black flies are bad. If you're looking for a more rustic/private experience and are OK with no modern campground amenities or showers, this is a great choice. Vault toilet was a short walk from site, closest to site UR03, and farthest from site UR01. An added bonus is that there is a lovely river and waterfall trail (Union Mine) that's accessible by crossing a footbridge in the campground. I had trouble finding any reviews for this campground before booking, so hopefully this review is helpful to anyone considering this place!

UR02 was a secluded, small site tucked into a spruce and hemlock forest that provided a great base camp for exploring the park. It might be a good idea to pack light as the space provided barely fit our 10 person tent. We had ample firewood from the downed wood surrounding forest so an axe and/or hatchet would be useful. Each of the 3 sites on the private road have their own benefits; 1 seemed bigger and more private, 2 tucked in the woods, 3 near the vault toilet. The nearby trail is short but gives nice waterfall and stream views with interesting facts about the area. Would go back again.

Super private three site outpost, a little farther than I liked from the loop we took but we'll worth the driving, deep woods so grab your repellent and hiking shoes! Few teaser photos for you. Pet friendly with outhouse, no potable water but information center is close by.

Love this campsite. Remote enough to feel adventurous without feeling isolated. You will likely be greeted by others or noticed in general in site 3. Site 2 is nice, and site 1 would probably be the premier one if you don't mind walking to the outhouse. I would avoid site 3 if you value privacy or plan any private experiences, as you may be upset with the turnaround spot just across the thinning tree line.
