The Porkies Union Bay

Really nice campground. There’s a reason this place has 4.9 stars. Staff at the entrance were very nice and there’s a booth with free hot chocolate and coffee in the mornings. Showers and bathrooms were also in great shape and well maintained. Campsites are spread out in some areas but close in others. We went in late may and it was still chilly and wasn’t busy, maybe 20% full. JUST A HEADS UP: our site 63 was a little uneven and on a slope with nowhere specific to park. We were tent camping with cars so it wasn’t a problem, but if you are camping with an RV or trailer be aware. I’ll include a picture of the site to give you an idea.

Nice campground! We had a spot right on the beach. A beautiful place to watch the sunset & sunrise.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying in the East yurt. No power or running water at the yurt but was close to the modern campground bathrooms and water source. Lake Superior is just over the bank offering a great view. Saw the sun rise AND set over the water! Too many waterfalls and other natural beauty to see in one week.

Nice, clean small well maintained camp ground!!! Very clean bath house and rest rooms.

An awesome state park and natural area, lots of hikes wild life to view in a large coastal forest area plus beach!
