Positive: Location, location, location! We stayed in a corner balcony room overlooking the ocean beach - an absolute must. Negative: One elevator in the main hotel, which is fine but it was absolutely filthy. No doubt the original carpeted floor and it smelled like desire exhaust and mold. Back entrance to rooms was efficient but poorly lit and dirty. All carpet needs to be replaced.
This review is all just based on time of year as being off season. We thought with vacation week that York would be a bit busier but everything was CLOSED which was disappointing. We booked a queen size room but to small. Recommend booking a king size room for more space.Continental breakfast was nice selection. Had a pub that was very busy as only place open so it drew a good crowd. Close to Rt 1 so we traveled to Wells, Kennebunkport, Ogunquit, Kittery for stuff to do. Hotel right on Short Sands beach for a walk. No pools or hot tubs to relax in so if not summer you don't need your bathing suit. There are other places to stay in area depending on what you want to spend 💰💰💰 that offer more amenities. This is definitely a summer spot as location is great for the warmer seasons. Staff was
It was just lovely at your hotel with a wonderful view, beach steps away, and short walk to cute little downtown. The food was great and loved the atmosphere in the Pub. And to top it off we had this lovely young lady at check-in taking me outside to describe where to park, and she served us breakfast this morning taking time to take our picture celebrating our 59th wedding anniversary, and then giving us a complimentary breakfast! Thank you for your kindness.
Stayed here this past weekend- a random off-season weekend and…in my opinion, this is the way to do York. If you come in the winter, just know everything is basically closed, and you’ll quickly realize how the locals actually live...which is kind of the best part. It forces you to explore beyond the obvious and find the real spots. The hotel itself was great. The staff was super friendly, the rooms were clean, updated, and actually comfortable (which is not always a given). The bed? 10/10...no notes. Location is perfect if you’re like me and don’t sit still...we bounced around to Wells, Kennebunk, Ogunquit, and Kittery with no problem. The best part? Waking up surrounded by water and then getting hit with a full-on snowstorm over the beach Sunday morning… unreal. One of those moments y
Unfortunately we were not notified that the restaurant would be closed all day and night until we arrived. Luckily I had pre ordered a snack basket to be delivered to the room prior to arrival. There was a storm that day and nothing was available for delivery. This is a great location to watch the big waves on a stormy day. We were able to borrow games from the Lobby to stay entertained and I was able to purchase a bottle of wine😊
