Tru by Hilton Lynchburg

Thr Tru in Lynchburg has become my new business trip stay when in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is simple but has everything a traveler really needs. The gym area is well appointed, and breakfast is good (try the yogurt). Rooms have always been clean and amenities stocked. It was a good find compared to the other options in town.

We got in around midnight after car trouble along the way. We were so exhausted that we asked for 90 minutes late checkout, but even though we'd been in the room for less than 12 hours and I am a gold member, we were told that, like the airlines, the hotel does nickel and diming for everything now and would charge another $40! I would have thought that this hotel would make an exception as we had reserved seven (7) rooms for two (2) nights each in October for a family and friends get-together, but no! When I pointed out that I was going to be a frequent customer and told them of my future stay, they still wouldn't budge on the $40 and Brennan (so?) wasn't very friendly about it either. I called Hilton customer service, but whoever I talked to in South Africa refused to intervene. Need

Positive: on the beach, check in was easy. They gave us a temporary key for access to restrooms, parking, and pool since we arrived a little before check in so we could enjoy the beach until the room was ready. The room was nicer than expected for the cost. Negative: Nothing.

Amazing staff at an awesome hotel! I have stayed at this Hilton establishment several times and this time I chose it purposely over others in the area! Sarah at the front desk was very kind, answered my questions, and was helpful! Connie flew to the rescue at breakfast when the pancake machine decided to briefly quit! She was pleasant and personable while attending to of all the breakfast tasks! Mary in housekeeping was equally as friendly when I passed her in the hallway and asked her a question! When I returned in the evening I was met with Nathan’s friendliness and helpful attitude at the front desk! Overall a 5 star stay with a 5 star staff!

Tru Hotel in Lynchburg is a really good value. It is very clean, well equipped and the staff is attentive and friendly. Rooms are designed to be comfortable without a lot of clutter. Bathroom was very clean with basic amenities. Comfy bed and pillows, good water pressure, and easy to use TV and WiFi. Breakfast was very nice with yummy hot and cold offerings and fresh fruit; a big bowl of fresh blueberries was a nice treat. All day coffee and tea. Pet friendly rooms with safe and well let places to walk my pal. EV charge station available too. Fifteen minutes to downtown Lynchburg and many places to eat and shop within a five minute drive. Hilton membership has room choice, self check in and out and a smart key, which I really like. Will stay here again if I return to Lynchburg.
