Spark by Hilton Lynchburg

Great hotel and very fair pricing. The room was very clean upon arrival and no weird smells throughout the room or lobby. Digital key was a big bonus for me just for easy access. I was able to skip checking in at the desk which was convenient while carrying in my bags. The shower was on the smaller side (height wise), but because of my size it was no problem at all. I loved the modern style of the room. The layout was perfect for a quick business trip. Breakfast options were great, but my favorite is that they had honey and cinnamon in the area so I could add that to my coffee. Definitely saving this location for next time I’m in the area! The ONLY negative feedback I have is that the ice machine had black mold growing around the chute/exterior. I’m an avid ice fan so this was disappoint

First, the location was not convenient. When we arrived there wasn’t anyone at the desk. We called out. No answer. We even knocked on and opened the office door. No answer, Then we stepped outside and saw a young girl leaned against the wall. We asked if she worked there and told her we were trying to check in. She acted like she didn’t want to be there. No welcome, no “thank you for being Hilton members,” no “ here’s your bottled water.” We made one trip to carry items to our room. We saw that there wasn’t a coffeemaker in the room. I went back to the car and mentioned to the front desk person that there wasn’t a coffeemaker. In a bored voice she replied, “Hilton made us take them out.” Although the room was clean, it was small! Positive: All remodeled from when we have stayed here in the past. Negative: Very poor breakfast. No hot items, no waffle maker. Had choices of breads, limited cereal, or oatmeal packets. My husband said the packaged cinnamon rolls/pastries were not good and he is not real picky usually.

I would rate the staff five stars as they were great and went above and beyond to ensure a great stay for us. The hotel is just old and the walls thin, so it was hard to get a good night's sleep. Heater rattled and fridge made a knocking sound all night. Toilet was not functioning properly. Rooms are small. Price correlates with what you get so it's an affordable option that is very convenient for events at Liberty.

Highly recommended hotel. A wonderful stay on a wedding trip/women's conference trip. We had a major issue with a room that was assigned to us. But we had no fear because Gino the man was here. He swooped in and fixed our issue to make our stay as good as we wanted it to be. He took initiative to get up off his seat and clean a dirty room that needed to be cleaned for us to move. Most people his age don’t want to work and have no respect whatsoever for their elders. Well Gino is the complete opposite. He was attentive, demonstrating his knowledge of this industry and made us feel more then welcomed.
