TownePlace Suites by Marriott New Orleans Harvey/West Bank

This is the most poorly maintained Marriott property I have ever been in. Rust & mold in the shower, no shower curtain liner, bare light bulbs in fixtures, broken closet shelves, broken microwave handle, loose/broken door handles, doors that only close with force, loose/wobbly faucet, & couch cushions so stained with mystery substances that they don't even look like the color of the rest of the couch. Mind you, this was in a 2-bedroom "suite". The air conditioning was not working in any of the public areas, so the hallways and lobby were unbearably hot for the 3 days/2 nights we were there. Even the little convenience store in the lobby had almost nothing. The deink cooler was basically empty & there aren't other vending machines or anything. I have read many reviews and it seems that guest believe in order for a review to be a 5 means it was perfect with no issues. When I arrived I had an ottoman without a wheel and the office chair didn't raise, nothing major. I called and my guy had both fixed in less that 5 minutes! The promptness showed me that they care and that has not changed. The entire staff from maintenance, housekeeping, breakfast staff to the front desk are amazing! I stayed at this hotel for 3 months and since returned. I could have been closer to my work at many other hotels, however I didn't mind the drive when this hotel staff works so hard and makes every effort to assist the guest. The reviews I saw here had me worried, but we had no issues during our weekend visit. There were no bugs (I'm roach-phobic & would've left immediately if I saw one), the AC works fine if you turn it down to 60, & the front desk staff was very friendly & welcoming. The rooms could use a little updating, but we used our Bonvoy points to stay here for free during Mardi Gras, so we have no complaints! If you need a basic room with kitchen for a comfortable nights sleep, this hotel does the job!

This place was horrible, staff was unprofessional and very rude and is definitely a danger to customers (Tronesha specially very unpleasant attitude threatens customers with calling her boyfriend who was incarcerated for 15 years over something she started) liability to the company. No fresh towels, breakfast was not up to part, grill was broken, drawers in the room coming apart, cleaning was not up to part, icemaker also was not working. OVERALL HORRIBLE STAY, AND IT WAS ONLY TWO NIGHTS. DISGUSTING PLACE.

My family booked this room for one night before heading home. We previously stayed in downtown but moved to this side to be closer to some friends. I got a king bed with the sofa sleeper (room 103). First thing I noticed in the room was that there was what appeared to be white dog hair throughout the carpeted area. I had black socks on and it was instantly covered with this white hair. I didn’t realize that this hotel allowed pets in the room. It’s fine if it does, but they should really clean it afterwards. The sofa sleeper is very old and doesn’t provide much cushion. I was able to open it but it was impossible for me to close it back up. The room comes with a sink and fridge which I didn’t have a need for. The bathroom was small and I noticed some of the clean towels had some
